Trade Talk

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) as the 2018 tournament kicked off on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th April at the Brands Hatch circuit.

Power Maxed TAG Racing had an exciting start to the competition and performed outstandingly, making it a day to remember as Senna Proctor achieved the team’s first victory of the season.

Proctor was the last placed of 9 drivers, however raced an exciting race as the Astra was the fastest car on the track and entered a battle with the Mercedes of Moffat. However, as the battle continued with only 2 laps to go Proctor managed to stretch ahead to win the race.

However, Josh Cook fought a losing battle and dropped back to position 15 at the finish which was a sensible decision to take the safer option when taking into consideration the rest of the competition.

After the race, Proctor commented “I don’t think it’s quite sunk in yet,” said Proctor. “I didn’t even know that I’d won until I pulled into Parc Ferme and realised that no one was there in front of me – it was a very surreal moment.”

This year’s Brand Hatch weekend was perhaps one of PMR’s best performances in the BTCC with Proctor’s victory and with the PMR Astras getting fastest laps in rounds 1 and 2.

PMR ended the weekend with Proctor finishing in championship position 7 and Cook placing in championship position 18 and full of excitement and promise for the next race.

Look out for Vauxhall in the next event at Donington Park on 28th –29th April!
